Rep Power: 0 2008 Civic Windshield gaskets? Molding? Left and right side
In the last month, first the passenger side and then driver side rubber gasket or molding (whatever it's called) that runs from the bottom corners of the windshield to the top corners has just started peeling off. At highway speeds little slivers have peeled off and made a racket while drivng. I finally got annoyed and just pulled them both out all the way.
What are these parts actually called and where can I get a set of them? I've looked for molding and gaskets but only keep finding "roof molding." don't want to get the wrong parts. It looks like it would be an easy install but that could be famous last words.....
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Not a lot of choices here.... The glass is glued to the body with Urethane.
If the strip you speak of came out from under the long drip molding, that might be what you have to purchase.
I don't do windshields so I'm not sure what the strips #1 are, if they are around the edges or if they are underneath the glass.
Ask at a glass shop?
B-42-10 refers to the roof/drip molding:

Got a part number for 8/9 in the second diagram? Same thing happened to my gf's 08. I wasn't sure what parts I had to get (rather, if the aforementioned 8/9 was a part number for the rubber seal under the molding or was the molding itself. Or if the rubber was part of the molding and it was just a whole molding/rubber assembly I needed to replace).

In your online parts catalog drop down menu, select 'molding'.
Or depending on the catalog, interior --> molding

I have a 2006, same issue, the dealerships are telling me I have to replace the left and right "drip moulding" that goes from the bottom of the windshield to the back of the hood. I found the pieces online for ~60$ a piece but shipping is high and the stealership wants 117$ a piece. Has anyone found any universal moulding for the left and right sides of the windshield that I can DIY it?

I have the same issue with the 2008 Civic LX I just purchased. After you get the part, how do you install. I see clips on the sides. Is this an easy job? I think I only need the rubber seal under the moulding If I understand this thread so far.

Hi, not sure if this is the same issue but the rubber gasket/molding at the top of drivers side door frame is coming down. Does that have to be replaced or can I just glue it so it stays up?
