My AC was working on and off recently, blower always has been working, but the cold air comes and goes. just Today, the cold air stopped working. Any ideas to what this could be?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

At least half of the problems are not because of low freon, and it seems that an awful lot of people who try to DIY the freon end up doing more harm than good..

At least half of the problems are electrical or physical.

If the system can get cold at all then it's usually not a low freon problem.
