Rep Power: 0 2013 Civic Wiper Issues
I have a 2013 Civic EX Sedan - Does anyone find it almost impossible to find wipers that wipe cleanly for the Civic? The factory ones didn't wipe very well and I have tried a number of other brands and they all work OK but seem to leave streaks or smears so easily - I have cleaned the windshield thoroughly thinking maybe some grime of film there but wipers still don't seem to work so well...maybe the design of the wipers? Anybody else have this issue or has anyone found a brand of wipers that works really well?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: 2013 Civic Wiper Issues
I think the factory units work better and last longer than most aftermarket choices.
Replacement rubber inserts are cheap enough too.
Dirt gets caught in the wipers and cause smearing, an occasional cleaning of the rubber may be necessary.

Re: 2013 Civic Wiper Issues
The ones on my 2014 refused to wipe correctly immediately off the lot. I tried scrubbing the window inside and out, as well as scrubbing the wiper itself to no avail.
The service manager at my dealership said he would have the rubber inserts replaced, but when they gave me the keys they told me they were fine, and didn't need replacing...
Frustrated, and almost late to work...I ran to auto-zone and got some Rain-X blades.
Work like a charm, with no issues.
I did get the EPP treatment, not sure if it can affect the wiper blade performance or not, or if the blade is supposed to be protected from the treatment, but on close inspection there was discoloration alone the edge of the insert, almost looked like when you put the edge of a paper towel in water.
Not sure what the actual problem was, be it defective blades, damaged blades, or what...but the Rain-X blades work fine for me.
(Had a set of Rain-X blades I used for about 4-5 years on my 2006 without problems.)
Was going to try Bosch, but the Rain-X ones were BOGO.

Re: 2013 Civic Wiper Issues
when I bought my Civic they still had the Factory blades on them until
the edges got a little rip in them. so I got a set of Boch evolution blades
I put on that work very well. when these go I will give the Rain X ones
a try.

Re: 2013 Civic Wiper Issues
I have a '12 EX. I just replaced my inserts with the Honda brand for the second time in 4 years. I'm getting two years on a set.
Unfortunately they aren't giving me a full sweeping path. These worked great 2 years ago when it was time to do the first replacement. There are areas of glass that the blades just aren't making contact with.
I'm sure that I've attached them correctly.
