Screaching Issue with 2010 Civic - HELP!

Hello! I know absolutely nothing about cars and am trying to figure out what is wrong with my car.

My car has been making this weird screeching noise when I am hitting the gas. It sounds like metal against metal or an annoying screeching noise. It seems to stop when I am hitting the break. The screeching noise will be there for a few days while driving and then go away for a few days. It seems to be more from the front drivers side than the passengers side.

I had a friend check out my engine and belts and they all seemed to be fine. I'm not 100% positive they were right, but since he is a mechanic I am assuming he is correct.

Any ideas? Please help! My car is a 4 door 2010 civic. I have this weird curb that I have to go over in my driveway every day so it could be something related to this.

Check the status of your front brake pads.

Like the man said..probably brake pads. That is what the wear indicator tab does. When you brake, it digs in and you do not hear it. Hear it just moving along. My Civic started doing it at first only in hard left turns. Can be plenty loud enough to hear it.
