Question Civic Si Gas Gauge Question...

Hi,

I have a question about a gas gauge on a 2007-09 Civic Si. I do not own one but rather looking for information about a specific gauge that i remember but do not see in other Hondas of this era.

My friend had the Civic Si, with the split cluster (tach in front of steering wheel, digital speedometer further back on the dash). However, I recall his car having a gas gauge that ran along the base of the windshield rather than being small and next to the speedometer. He said something about it being a custom model but I thought it was a Honda option, not a third party item.

Can anyone shed any clues? The normal digital gas gauge I see in other Civics wouldn't have stood out to me. This was readily visible to the passenger.

Thanks!
John

This is a stock upper gauge set (random image search)
You can probably see these from the passengers seat pretty easy.

This looks like an Si dash:

Re: Civic Si Gas Gauge Question...

Thanks. Yes, that's the normal split cluster I remember but the gas gauge in that is not notable to me that I would take notice or remember. This was something larger and closer to the windshield. It also had green bars rather than white.

Was there any sort of add on or option, perhaps related to fuel economy?

Re: Civic Si Gas Gauge Question...

Not from the factory and not as a dealer installed accessory.

Probably aftermarket if anything.

AFR meter? (Air-Fuel Ratio)
Google image search AFR meter. There's a zillion variations.

Here's a couple that look DIY

Hmmm, this wasn't something he would have installed himself though so that makes it quite odd.
