Hi Guys,
I went to mr.tire to rotate tires and wheel balancing. By mistake they had oil change in my appointment and did a oil change. The manager mentioned it's the same oil as honda.
They used valvoline premium conventional 5w20. They didn't reset my oil percentage.
Do you think it should be OK to reset my oil percentage and wait until my next change is due or do I need to replace the oil from dealer sometime soom (may be ina week or two)? I think my reg honda dealer uses Mobil 1.
Thanks in advance. Appreciate your answers.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Oil Change
They changed the oil, reset your oil life.
What specs are on the oil bottle?
API SN at the very least?
I'd run it for the next 3-5k or whatever you usually do, then change it like normal.
I doubt your dealer uses Mobil-1 in everything (unless you ask for it specifically), that makes for low profit oil change.

Re: Oil Change
oil changes on my civic are done only by me. why? eliminates any screw ups
left over by quick Lube oil change centeres , or shops. not putting anyone down just saying hey... when theres 10 cars outside a quick Lube bay waiting for there oil change, screw ups are going to ocure whether we like it or not. but again not all shops will screw up not at least the good ones anyway.
im currently using the NEW Pennzoil Platinum Pure Plus its the latest and
greatest oil because its derived from natural gas "1st of its kind" for any oil on the
market to have. its the next evolution of oil that's here today
from Pennzoil. the "base stock is derived from natural gas" is a much cleaner base stock resulting in a much cleaner synthetic oil to run in your engine. believe me its good stuff to run in your Civic.
