Squeaking/Creaking over bumps?

2006 Honda Civic Lx Sedan.
Recently I've noticed a creaking/squeaking when I go over bumps. It's been steadily getting louder over the last few months. It SOUNDS like an older car that has gone forever since a lubrication, but as far as I know my car doesn't have lubrication points.

Any idea's what it could be?
I've noticed it when it started getting cold, don't see how but, could temperature be causing it? it hasn't gotten warm enough for me to see if it improves yet.

The cold weather can affect a lot of things. Metals, plastics and fluids all act differently in cold weather then in hot, so it is possible that the cold weather is creating a problem or at least displaying a weakness.

Possibly your springs making noise against the mounts but not sure if they are suppose to lubed or not.

Sure. Damn near anything.

Start over, with some basics: Noise from where on the car?
Inside?
Outside?
Front?
Rear?
Drivers side?
Dash?

Dead hooker in the trunk?

Re: Squeaking/Creaking over bumps?

Front.
It really seems like it only happens on bumps, a sweeping turn for example doesn't really make any noise.

It sounds to me like the suspension making noise when it compresses, but I don't know very much about suspension.

Re: Squeaking/Creaking over bumps?

If you go bounce the front of the car (by hand or with a knee), will it make the noise?

Narrow it down further. EDIT: Scratch that last line.

Re: Squeaking/Creaking over bumps?

Looking in service information....

There's a service news article about "Got an annoying creak that%u2019s coming from the left or right front of the dashboard or body while going over bumps or when speeding up or slowing down? What you%u2019re hearing are a couple of body seams rubbing together from the upper strut mount area."
Squeak or pop noise.

You would have to locate the source (area) of the noise before seeing if this info would apply to your situation though.

Most all the other info is about pops and clunks.

Re: Squeaking/Creaking over bumps?

Ok, I'll try to check on the panels and stuff when it gets clearer sometime hopefully in the near future. Thanks for the help.

Re: Squeaking/Creaking over bumps?

it sounds like the rubber grommets on your suspension might be dried out. get some transmission fluid and squirt it on them, this should take care of your problem.

Don't do this.
Soaking rubber parts in petroleum products will ruin the rubber.

Use some silicone instead.
