Thought I might ask here to see what everyone thinks. I recently purchased a 2013 SI Coupe. Had it 2 weeks and noticed the clear coat had a problem with it. Long story short, the DPSM looked at it and called it rail dust from shipping. So they want to re-paint my car. I was told by the salesman that a new car would be an easy swap out. That's what I want at this point. The dust I was told ate through the protective plastic wrap on the car. Is asking for a new car too much to ask for from the dealership? This issue should have been caught during the inspection when the car was delivered.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Josh

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Honda/Dealership problem
Unless I missed something......
You are now the owner of the car, the dealership now has no part in the ownership of it and owes you nothing.
The manufacturer is now covering YOUR cars' paint issue under their warranty.

Re: Honda/Dealership problem
I see a lot of rail dust without the plastic protection. I have seen trucks sit for 6 months with rail dust and all it takes to fix is a clay bar and some detailing. If the clearcoat was damaged then it has to be more than a rail dust issue.
