2010 Civic towing a Saturn SL2 (Curb weight MT 2404)?

Hello,

I am moving 865 miles from my current location and am wondering if it is a very bad idea to tow a 2002 Saturn SL2 using a 2010 Honda Civic (manual transmission).

I am a low aggressive driver hence will not be revving or stressing the speed's, etc.

Any kind thoughts, please?

Thanks
Joe

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

What does your Civic Owners Manual say about towing?
(Sedan owners manual, page 273, clearly indicates to me that what you are thinking is simply out of the question! )

The way I figure it: Gas to drive the Saturn is going to be cheaper than buying a clutch for the Civic, or crashing because the Civic could not stop all 5000 LBS of mass in time. Plus the lawsuit from whomever you hit.

I'm thinking 2 tanks of gas in the Saturn to go that far @ all highway driving......
and a day or 2 of someones free time is gonna be dang cheap. (Compared to the potential costs, see above.)

Plus if you drive it, it can haul a pile of stuff too.
