Exclamation 2010 Civic Positive Battery Cable

I have been told by honda service center for replacement of my 2010 honda civic positive battery cable.
They told me the price over $900 which is much higher.
Does anyone know about this part or the cost it should be for replacement?
As they told me that they will have to change the whole 6ft cable which goes inside.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: 2010 Civic Positive Battery Cable

WHY do they say "it needs replaced"?

To do it "factory", you will purchase the entire wiring harness for the engine and transmission (over $300 for that part). Plus installation, whatever number of hours X labor rate someone thinks you will pay to change it.
I'm guessing that for the price of over 900 McDoubles, they think 6 hours of labor time?

There are much cheaper/quicker solutions, depending on your problem.

If the cable end is broken where it fits on the battery post, that can be repaired DIY with a little work. Googled: http://www.familyhandyman.com/DIY-Pr...inals/View-All

If the end is just corroded, mix up a bit of baking soda and water and clean and inspect it. You can google that too.

If the end is stretched and does not grip the battery post tightly, you can buy a little shim (lead cap) that fits over the post: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...ntifier=257147
