Rep Power: 0 Did I get a good deal?
Hey
I just signed a lease on a 2012 civic, Dyno Blue LX. $224 a month for 36 months. $224 includes all taxes, dmv fees and all other fees. $0 down and they paid for first month. 12k miles a year.
I also got 1 year maintenance for free.
Did I get a good deal? I am curious since this is the first car I have leased.
I will pick it up on Monday.
BTW big honda fan ... this is my second civic. I also have a honda pilot and might trade in my 2011 v6 rav4 for the new crv.
Will post pictures on Monday.
Thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Did I get a good deal?
Leasing a car is never a good deal for ordinary people IMO.
You pay a bunch of money and end up with absolutely nothing to show for it at the end.
The lease company makes all the money.
$224
x36months
=$8064 you paid to drive it.
Plus all the extras, fuel, etc.
You get charged for mileage over the agreement, you get charged for any body damage, dents dings scratches, etc.
They get to resell the car after you turn it in at the end of the lease. In 3 years the resale should still be over 12k.
One year of free maintenance, also dirt cheap. That might be 1 oil change and a tire rotation (depends entirely on your driving). Maybe 2 oil changes.
The cars can go anywhere from 4000 to 12,000+ miles on an oil change, depending on how you drive. The computer watches your driving habits and driving conditions, and adjusts oil change intervals accordingly.
Dig into your owners manual and read up on the maintenance minder system.
