cd player

I just bought a 2006 Honda Civic sdn EX with Navi.

I can't get the navi screen to fold down and unload the cd player. It worked the first time, but now there is a cd stuck in there. It will play, but I can;t get the sceen to fold down so I can remove the cd.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: cd player

You are going to love this.

Troubleshooting, C&P straight from Hondas website:

Navigation display does not open or opens part way

  • Press the OPEN/CLOSE button.
    Does the display open normally?
    YES —
The system is OK at this time.■

    NO —
    Replace the audio-navigation unit

You might try a battery disconnect for several minutes. At least you might have a chance of getting your disc back after you reconnect it. Make sure you have your antitheft codes before you unhook the battery.

Visit your dealer. Ask about reman units, or sending yours in for repair. (I'm not sure what is available, seems like every car is different.) If you can get it out of the dash by yourself, maybe they will send it in for you and you can save some on labor for the r+r.

If you can't get your CD out, the repair center will remove and return it to the dealer.

You might be able to send it in yourself too.

Parts catalog says it is Alpine.

    P5 from Honda bulletin 06-001

    1. Give your customer an estimate for repairing the
unit (see step 6), plus the labor cost to replace it.
For an Alpine unit, your customer has the option of
    contacting Alpine Electronics directly. Alpine’s
    customer service number is 800-421-2284,
    Ext. 860304
