Exclamation Vibration Problems

Hello,

I have a 2009 Civic DX 4 door. Runs like a charm but i am having some serious vibration problems. The problem only starts as i hit the highway and am driving above 120km. It fades in and out through the steering wheel. Its not violent but on a 5 hour drive it takes its toll on my hands thats for sure. At higher speeds like 130 - 140 same thing it fades in and out, in town at lower speeds nothing it runs smooth as can be. no one can seem to figure it out. I have done the following:

-Wheel Balance
-Wheel alignment
-Just bought brand new rims and tires and they were balanced and aligned.
-Just had my mechanic (this morning) look over the entire car everything from sway bar, wheel bearing, brakes, axles, balance weights. checked the body for lose fenders and couldnt find anything.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?? i thankyou in advance

Re: Vibration Problems

it could have been a number of things.

1. wheel balancing is prob the first thing that'll cause ur steering wheel to do that. even tho you got it balanced, the shop might have dont a shitty *** job. i would suggest you take it to another reputable shop and have them rebalance it. its not that expensive.

2. what kinda wheels do u have? if they are aftermarket, did you get hub centric rings? and if they are aftermarket, they will most likely use 60 degree acorn...and therefore you CANNOT use ur stock lugnuts because they are a "ball end" style lug nuts. aftermarket wheels use acorn...and this could be the reason why ur wheels are off centered.

3. ur rotors might be wraped or imballance. their pulsing might cause ur car's wheel to shake even when you depress the brakes and they seem fine.

4. do you have a before/after print out of ur alignment? you should. if they didnt give you a print out, dont even go to that same place again.

5. this sounds silly but are ALL ur lugnuts tightened? go check. un tightened lug nuts will cause ur wheels to wabble
