Insurance?

Have a question regarding insurance. Why is it so expensive on these cars?

I have 3 cars in the stable, a 2005 Acura MDX, a 2006 Holden Monaro, and now the 2010 Civic GX.

The Monaro and the MDX are relatively close in insurance, but the Civic is about $300 more every 6 months.

Anyone else run into thiers being more expensive than on other cars?

Re: Insurance?

Civics are popular among young drivers, which consequently leads to high accident rates for civics and higher insurance overall.

It's also 4-5 model years newer...new car higher insurance costs.

I get that completely. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining that my rates are low on the other two cars but here's a little for instance. The Monaro came out of the factory putting out 400hp. There was only 262 of these built that year so if anything happens to it it's totaled. Period. My agent told me that the parts for the Civic are more expensive is part of the reason why. My problem with that is that Civics are f*cking everywhere. No real shortage of parts. I guess I'm just ranting. Part of the price to pay for better gas mileage/cheaper gas. *shrugs*

Damn kids!

I think this one might hold a little more bearing than a newer car. I got to thinking. For awhile in 09 and into 2010, I had a 2010 Vette as my daily driver that was new. It was only about $50 more every 6 months.

I think I'm finished with my soapbox.
