Finally my Civic is here, lot of question

Hi, Im new in the forum

just 6000$ total !!!!!

anyway, its feels good...but the miles are a little high 99k

so....I have some questions...first, mechanical question:

-my car "jumps" a little sometimes when it change from 1st to 2nd gear...its like it getting out of gas, even with the tank full

this problem is not constant, it happen sometimes

-The exhaust have like litthe "rocks" inside...I dont know how to call it, but when it moves I can hear like small rocks "dancing" inside...how can I disarm it to clean it ??

-Im getting like 24mpg......its supposed that the car should give almost 30mpg...so...I dont know whats wrong

now electrical:

-Radio is dead.....well it have a code...but I dont know it...what can I do ??

thats all...please help, I really like the car but I want to solve that problems

Re: Finally my Civic is here, lot of question

Nice avatar, MGS is one of my favorite game series of all time . When you say jump, do you mean the car kicks you back into your seat? I haven't driven an automatic in quite some time, but it might just be the way you apply the throttle. The further you push it down, the later and harsher it will shift. As for the MPG, I'm assuming El Salvador is pretty warm year round, so you probably don't have "winter blend" gas. It could be your driving habits. Are you doing a lot of city driving? That is a killer on mpg(ie stop and go). It might need a tune up. It's hard to say.

It's definitely possible that you may just have a bit of a lead foot at the moment, I know I do when I get a new car. Otherwise, the car may be in need of a tune-up after five years.

The "small rocks" are probably the exhaust bouncing around a bit on the hangers, check that all the bolts are tight.

Re: Finally my Civic is here, lot of question

Is the tire pressure correct?

I would definitely consider changing the air filter, then cleaning out the intake and throttle body. If those are dirty you would have a fairly significant drop in mpg.

Re: Finally my Civic is here, lot of question

check your door jamb(the area where the door closes). There should be a sticker there with your VIN and some other things. One of those being tire pressure ratings. This pressure is for COLD tires, as they will heat up and pressure will increase once you've driven about a mile or so.
