Hi i have a 2008 civic si coupe Im about to get a cold air intake and was looking at getting a cat-back exhaust system. The only problem was that i didnt want to spend a couple hundred bucks and have a car that sounded like junk. I want a quality exhaust, what brands should i be looking at. If you could send forwarded links. thanks

Re: Quality exhaust
If you want quality, you're gonna drop atleast $400 for a cat-back.You have the K20AZ3.Works good with bolt ons so a CAI and cat-back,that are good quality, will bring you up to around 185-195WHP.As for good brands,I prefer DC Sports,Magnaflow,A'Pexi, and Skunk2.I suggest also buying a header which will bring you over 200WHP with the CAI and cat-back.Any other questions just ask.

http://www.amazon.com/Borla-140284-C...2214021&sr=8-3
http://www.amazon.com/Skunk2-Racing-...2214021&sr=8-6
These were the two main exhaust systems that i checkin out. which would you prefer (i dont know if the dual tipped muffler from borla makes a distinct sound rather than a larger single tip) and also what do you think of this cold air intake
http://www.amazon.com/2006-2010-Hond...2214283&sr=1-1
It doesnt have a brand name ive ever heard of but it has some impressive claims for hp and torque, atleast for the price.
And thanks for any input

Re: Quality exhaust
I'd go with the Skunk2 since it's a single canister. But that's me.The dual tip should make a little bit of a louder/deeper sound I think. Not much though.Borla and Skunk2 are both respectable brands.Skunk2 is more known for Honda though. As for the intake,I wouldn't buy it.It may say it has impressive HP/torque increase doesn't mean it's true.Brands I never heard of are shifty to me.If you're willing to drop another couple hundred, you should buy a AEM CAI or SRI.Or Injen is good too.

It looks like AEM and Injen CAI both require customization (i.e. cutting parts of the car in order for it to fit), does K&N require you to do the same with a 2008 civic si? Also are hp gains from a CAI worth it over a short ram intake? thanks agian, im pry going to be getting the Skunk2 R 70mm Cat-back exhaust system now.

Re: Quality exhaust
CAI will get you more cold air which would make the car "breathe" better. An SRI would be mounted right on the intake mani. The CAI would go down near the front bumper where less hot air form the engine would go.I guess CAI HP gains is worth it if you live in an area without much rain.**** can get messed up if the CAI would to suck up water.I live in So Cal,so rain isn't much of a problem most of the time.It would only hydrolock if it was fully submerged in water, like when you go into a dip filled with water.

This is a good choice if your going for a CAI.It doesn't void your warranty either.I don't believe it requires any mods to mount it.Not sure about K&N though. And other brands are Weapon R and Takeda.
