I have a 2007 Civic Si and I need to know what the little black rotating ****,that is located in the small storage area directly below the A/C, is used for. I'm not talking about the storage bin in the console, I am referencing the small storage area that is part of the dashboard and has the Power outlet to the left side. In my car there is a small rotating **** mounted to the upper part of this storage area. It turns, has no detent for off and on, but as far as I can see it doesn't control anything...or does it? There is nothing mentioned in the owners manual.

I hope this works as I am not familiar with how to add pictures to this text message. Seems CUT and PASTE don't work so I added them to my profile.

Thanks for your input but the **** only turns left and right. Does anyone else have one in their 2007 Si? If not then why is mine the only one with one?
NOTE: I bought the car used with 12k miles on it. The previous owner did add a subwoofer with amp and a 6 speaker converter. I do not believe this **** has anything to do with that add-on as I have tried turning it with the radio on and there is no difference.
What gives? Please reply if you have an 2007 Si and you do or do not have such a ****. Thanks.

Gearbox, I'll give it a try. I know that since the subwoofer was put in I can control it directly from the radio. Besides the normal Bass, Treble, Fader, etc, there is also a SUB for controlling th subwoofer. From that I can tuner it complete off or increase the bass. I'll see and let you know. I guess no one else has one of these and it's not a normal Honda control.

Ok I have the answer. This car, which is actually my wifes, has an after-market subwoofer. It also has a 2 chanel amp, which is used for the sub, and a 4 channel amp which is used for the front and rear speakers. Connected in-between the radio and the amps is an Audio Control LC6i signal converter. This converter has a "subwoofer remote input" on it. The control which is mounted in the storage area is an "on-the-fly" remote sub adjustment. I looked up the signal converter, found the wiring diargram, and saw the connections. Thanks gearbox.
