Driver's seat back discomfort

I have an '06 Civic Coupe 5 spd. A few weeks ago, I picked up my daughter at college for the holiday break. She had quite a bit of stuff, but we crammed it all in the trunk and back seat area. I placed a bag of books right behind the driver's seat. For about 30 min I drove with them "digging" into my lower back. Well... now whenever I drive the car, it is quite uncomfortable, I think the support rods became bent. The best solution would be to replace the driver's seat back, but is this possible? Where do I find such a part? The next best thing would be to try and "bend" it back, but I think that will do more damage. The most inexpensive fix would be to get a small thin cushion or pillow, but I do not like that idea. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Driver's seat back discomfort

well seat parts are expensive. and usually it is just alot of foam padding. i would give it a week and see if it pops back to normal. maybe the foam got compressed and needs time to reshape. you can also unzip the cloth cover and take a look inside, but its mostly just dense foam.

Re: Driver's seat back discomfort

FWIW, I'm a 6'0, 195 lbs. male and I have discomfort when sitting in my '08 Si for long periods of time on the right side of my mid, lower back. I reposition myself in the seat (almost seems like I'm leaning against the right side support) but it doesn't rectify the problem.
