factory amp for 2007 civic si

Re: factory amp for 2007 civic si
the factory amp hangs on the right fender but the way honda install it is to wire it directly to the head unit so there is no way for you to unplug it without cutting wires. I tried it , but was all confused by the wiring diagarm so i did not want to risk cutting the wrong wires.
I hook the speakers wires to my 150 watts Alpine R amp (4 channels). There is an adjustment screw on the amp to allow for that and the whole system sounds great.
Only drawback is that, I found out that i can only run the amp for about an hour on battery cause that sucker sucks a lot of juice and my battery will do dead.so i hav to b careful.
i ran down my battery a couple of times before i figure out what happen
good luck, if you still wants to cut wire to the factory amp...howver

I'm of the opinion ( being an audiophile dating back to the 70's) that most people can't tell the difference between one amp to another (unless it's distorting), but speakers are another thing all together, I have an 08 4 door EXL with Nav and just changed out the speakers and that made a whole lot of difference, the amps/head unit in all newer Honda's has been farmed out to Alpine and don't sound all that bad even though for some people they don't go loud enough.
