Can someone please help me???

I have a 07 civic ex auto with about 45k miles. I've been hearing this really loud vibrating drone coming from the engine bay whenever im cruising from 55-60. Its extremely loud. I cant for the love of god figure out what it is because it starts around 55 and just cuts off after about 60. I cant take it to the dealership since my warranty expired. So if anyone can help me out it would be great.

does the car or steering wheel shake? it may be a loose heatshield around the header. could also be a hose or other piece touching metal, or even a loose hood which you can adjust by playing with the rubber stoppers to make sure its snug.

I wouldnt say it shakes, but it vibrates a little. You feel it in your ears. Just a loud *** ring. I dont know if anything is loose. If something was loose wouldnt it continue to get louder? This thing is consistent. Starts at 55 and stops at 60. Thats whats boggling my freakin mind! I have absolutely no clue whats going.

Do you have any idea what it might be? Cause i dont have the money to take it anywhere and pretty much everyone i have asked is clueless.

Re: Can someone please help me???

im almost tempted to say its the tires if they are worn or resonating with the road surface. also could be worn out engine mounts that is causing the exhaust to rattle against the heat shields on the car.

Yea but the thing thats bothering me is it stops vibrating after hitting 60. If something was loose or something wouldnt it only get louder? Im so damn confused on what to do with this car.

Re: Can someone please help me???

try different things to make the noise go away when its happening. like let off the gas, shift to neutral, etc try and see if you can make it go away by doing something. its really hard to diagnose noises when it only happens at high speed.
