I have an 06 Honda Civic EX. Yes I know its not an SI so dont hassle me about it. Anyways I've put a cool air intake and I've made tons of upgrades style wise. I dont plan on selling it or buying another car for many years, so Im wanting to put a turbo in it. I cant figure out what series turbo I need, so need some advice on what would be a good turbo for my car.
I've found some turbo's ranging from 4K too as low as $800. I found the $800 on www.xs-power.com, idk something is fishy about a $800 turbo kit.
Idk please help me out with my problem.
THANKS!!!!!

Re: Turbo Help!!!!
there r some ppl on the 8th that use tsi/greddy kits.
most ive seen someone push is 8 or 10 psi i think. all stock motor
pushin 200 hp. not bad
dont go for the 800 dollar kit.. if ur gnna do turbo do it right
if its a bad manufacturer itll screw u up bad. so yeah
thats my $.02

Re: Turbo Help!!!!
I have a 2010 si and would like to do a turbo "the right way"
I am 51 and not really a boy racer..but really like the car.
What is the best setup?
I am not going to race the car...just enjoy some intense acceleration...like the Mazda Speed 3 I test drove.
can someone send me in the right direction
I am in Northern N J

prolly more reliable to chose a quality supercharger kit with good tuning. check 8thcivic.com to see what ppl are going with. generally, turbo is less reliable and requires more care and maint to keep it running well.

k series transmission is too weak for a turbo. person who lives down my street turboed is 08 si and it ate is transmission a month later and he had a really good tune but he was putting down way too much power for that transmission to handle and was only running like 9 pounds of boost. i agree with gearbox supercharger is the way to go

usually supercharger power comes in sooner (at lower rpm) compared to turbo. and the charger is pretty much always working. turbo has to "spool" up around 4k rpm and power is not always available in lower rpm.
