Replacing a front bumper

I was driving in the snow on the highway tonight, and I spun out on an off ramp and hit a snow bank against a concrete wall. The crash didn't feel to bad to us in the car, but when we got out the front bumper on the driver's side was shot to hell. It doesn't seem beyond the realm of duct tape, but I think it would be best to replace it. I was curious what my best option is. Buying a bumper online, getting it painted, and installing it myself (I have no experience with cars, but I have a friend who does, and he has all the tools). Also if I do this, where should I buy one? Or should I just take it to a dealer and get it serviced there. Thanks.

well it's pretty easy to just put a new bumper on yourself. you can also go check out a junk yard for one. the biggest thing is getting it painted. if your friend can paint then get one at the junkyard have him paint it and throw that bitch back on there. otherwise just find one online and take it to a paint shop and have them do it.

Buy it and get it painted. Put it on yourself.

Re: Replacing a front bumper

bumpers are easy to install. Everyone in my family was shocked(because I'm a girl) that I can take the bumper off my car! I mean c'mon anyone can use a screwdriver.
