Rep Power: 0 New owner of '07 Civic Coupe EX
I picked up my first Honda today. The car is a 2007 Civic Coupe EX with 9500 miles. I am quite excited by the car and hope to enjoy it for many years.
Here are a few questions
I look forward to learning from this board
thanks,
Here are a few questions
- Has anyone removed the dust cover on the AUX port?
- Is there an overdrive switch like I had on my Altima?
- What's the deal with the 100K+ no tune ups?
- Is there a tint film on the rear side windows? I see a tear on one
I look forward to learning from this board
thanks,

should not be any factory tint, altho some dealers have it put on once they get the car. no overdrive that i know of, torque converter locks out automatically. dust cover, not really sure what or why you wanna remove it. unless you have something to plug in.

The dust cover on the Aux port is just annoying. I want to be able to plug in a cable with one hand. Removing the cover would make this easier.
For that matter the cover on the Cig lighter is annoying too.
I wonder how I can remove the tint cover on the windows. The tear looks ugly.

Honda is confident on their cars and don't require a 100k+ maintained schedule. No tint that I am aware of. And yes those covers suck. No Overdrive, and im guessing you have a auto?
Happy Hondaing, I got my 08 LX Coupe about 2 weeks ago also, fun to drive. =D

Yes my car is an automatic.
There is definitely tinting on the rear side windows of my '07 coupe.
With the 100k+ tuned up schedule, is the maintenance then mostly oil changes and occasional tire rotations?

basically yeah, you dont need to do timing belt til around 90k miles. just small stuff like fluid flushes every few years, spark plugs, oil changes, etc need to be done normally.

I have decided to leave the tinting alone. I put a piece of clear tape over the small tear to keep it from getting any bigger.
I am planning to do the garage door opener mod with a switch tucked into the sun glass holder.
Would still like to hear about removing the silly dust covers on the aux port and cig lighter.
I bought a Proclips mount for my cellphone. Now I have heads up display for GPS and Mp3 playback.
1 week of driving my Civic and really enjoying it.

I spoke to the previous owner of my Civic. He called me after I sent him a letter about transferring the extended warranty that he bought for the car. He told me that aftermarket tinting was added to the car which solves that mystery.
btw - Since he sold the car back to the dealer and not directly to me than the warranty was not transferable.

I have the balance of the factory warranty on my car. It was put into service in Dec '07. That gives me 2 years and 25K miles left on the warranty. I am thinking that any problems would arise between now and then.
