I just thought it would be nice to warn you guys that the beloved 197HP Civic SI was creamed last night 4 times by a 7 year old 2001 Celica GTS with 180HP and 130K+ miles on the odometer. The car was bone stock with a full tank of gas and my 180lb little brother in the passenger seat. The civic had only one person in it. VVT-i FTW!!!!!! feel free to cry -- I would.

I'll answer the other guys shortly but I just want to clown FGCOUPE... Doesn't the Skyline GTS-T already come with the RB25DET in it? What's the point of saying it was a swap?
Also, I seem to recall that the Grand Am was discontinued in 2006 and replaced with the G6.
I bought the Celica for my girlfriend because she didn't like the Civic. I don't have a car -- I drive rental cars paid for by my company. Right now I'm driving a Pontiac G8.

my bad....yea, Grand Prix sorry!! haha!!
clown me? lmao!
do your research before opening your trap!! lol
RB20DET came in the 1989 (debuted in May) GTS-T Type M & GTS-4 (AWD) models.
RB25DET wasnt found until the R33 models were released in AUG 1993.

Hurf hurf hurf, I drive rentals provided for free by my massive ***** company. Did I mention that I have a massive *****? See to be hired at my company, you have to have a massive *****.
My massive ***** slowed down the Celica we were driving, otherwise we would have broke the sound barrier. Hurr hurr. I have so much time on my hands, I had to join a Civic forum just to troll off my accomplishment.
Way to go, you're a 30 year old boy.

that was by far the funniest thread I have read all month, I would shake your hand, er claw(get it?......zoidberg joke?.....no? okay then) just for saying that. but even if we look at the scenario on paper, either the guy driving the civic has feather-feet, cant drive standard, or WASNT standard. or the celica got off the line ahead of time, right? I mean theres really no way a stock celica could juice a new Si is there?
of course this could also be some ****** driving a echo just doing this to get a rise, with nothing better to do always a possibility.
ps (off topic) do you know what the differences are between a 2005 si and a 2006 si? i have been searching but cant really find much!

the si doesnt come in automatic and the difference between an 05 and 06 is the 06 has a k20z3 and ia very obvioysly 8th gen when looking at it, and it comes in coupe and sedan. no hatch

If you're talking about running circles then you should really reconsider. Underpowered celicas have been beating more powerful cars in road racing for years. Lets say you could run straight lines well --- when ON boost.
Since you enjoy spouting goofiness, here's my share. Your mommy-mobile skyline GTS (which isn't even street legal) would have a new one torn in its *** by my KA24DET powered 240sx.
Oh and to the chump making fun of my rental car -- I'm not in the G8 any more. I'm in a 2009 Caddillac CTS now. I'm thinking of taking it back and getting the Escalade however, as it's started snowing in MA.
Peace

I guess you're not really a car guy... I was sure everyone in this forum would know that all civic SI's are stick.

Way to wake up a 4 month old thread.
Nobody really cares about you bro.
All you do is get on and rag on people, what a momentous accomplishment.
Give it a rest man.

Oh I forgot to mention that you don't have to take my word for it -- there are numerous resources showing that both cards get within 0.1 seconds of their quarter mile times. With that said, it could depend on the driver? Also, all but one run was on the freeway and not from a dig. Perhaps the GTS has better performance at speed? The B16A coupe was raced from a dig. I got him off the line and then pulled away pretty easily.
