Hey guys,
Been breaking in my 07 Si with about 1400 miles on it. Car runs wonderful. One day when i was still learning to drive it, i depressed the clutch and shifted into third, but did not move the shifter all the way into third by mistake. As i began to let out the clutch, i heard a "grinding sound", no doubt the car half in 2nd and 3rd. I pressed the clutch and quickly and moved the car into 3rd. The gear is fine, but since that time, every once and a while, the physical movement into third is alittle rough, as if i can't tell if the shifter is all the way in the gear. There have been no sounds since, and the gear it self is fine. Any advice??

I would go to the dealership and tell them that 3rd feels kinda funny. Tell them the problem and act like it really bothers you. DO NOT TELL THEM ABOUT THE MISSED SHIFT. If you even mention that you could have caused this, they will void the warranty.
That is just what I would do.

Just go to the dealer and tell them 3rd feels a bit notchy. They will test drive it and let you know if its normal. Honestly even my S2000 used to have a little stiff spot going into 3rd at higher RPMs. As far as I'm concerned I would say its normal.

I guarrentee the Honda dealer will find nothing wrong with your car, they never find anything wrong when it's under warrenty. You could go in there with your brakes smoking and the engine knocking and they will say, "Oh that's normal".

My kid is saying it happens more when it's cold. It will be going into the shop by Tuesday of next week. However, I took it out last night and tried to recreate the problem and even though I was getting rubber in 1st, 2nd and third, I couldn't get it to pop out of third. Go figure...
