Rep Power: 0 Just installed some factory options
I just spent Saturday installing the following factory (OEM) items.
Fog Lamps - $250.00 from Honda
Interior Illumination - $70.00 from Honda
Auto-Dim Day/Night Compass Mirror - $250.00 from Honda
------------
I will warn you, this is not an easy task and requires most of your day to install.
I painted the fog lamp covers the same color as my car (Majestic). I wanted a more natural look to the lamps installed and OEM black wasn't cutting it for me.
Removed front bumper and cut into the designated marks that Honda made on the inside of the bumper.
Honda has done a lot of the pre-wiring for the lamps from the factory, so you just need to install the lamp cable to the pre-run one on the passenger front near windshield fluid container.
Inside the car you need to replace the headlight switch assembly with the one in the fog lamp box. This adds fog lamp functions to the steering column instead of the dash as found with the cheaper kits found on eBay. You will also run another cable of the fusebox to another pre-wired junction cable under the dash. Ground the cable and re-assemble the dash.
Since I purchased all three major kits from Honda, all the kits required removing the dash so with the dash removed, I installed the Interior lighting kit which also required drilling holes into part of your dash. Please note, all pieces that are drilled can be replaced at a nominal charge.
Interior lighting requires running the main power cable for the kit from one side of the dash to the other, starting from the driver side and working your way through to the passenger side. I had my Civic on a lift and it was still pretty painful to work in such a small confined place. Anyone looking to do this should invest in a head strap light so you can point the light where you need it. After running the cable through, you can connect the end cable to the fuse box.
Auto-Dimming Mirror. Remove old mirror and save the clips. (eBay mirror to recoup some cost) Remove visor and visor clip, map light, handle on driver side, and A-pillar trim (where it says "Air Bag") You will need to use a rubber mallet to hit under where it says Air Bag (no joking). Run cable from A-Piller down to fuse area. Then fish cable through roof coming out where the map light is. Attach mirror and cable.
---
I didn't take pictures of the procedure, I thought about it midway though and said, F it. The details above are definitely condensed and requires most of your day if you decide to take this on. Since I saw how much was involved with installing the fog lamps, I decided to purchase everything else I wanted anyway. I am glad I did do that because this car is very small when it comes to working the space they provide you.
I also purchased aftermarket chrome door sills that I plan on installing next week. I will also have the tint shop put in 50% tint on all the windows and add a tint strip to the windshield.
Thanks

Inside Interior Illumination has three LED pods that mount under the driver side dash, the center dash and, the passenger side dash. At night it will shine a low lit ambient light in the foot wells and center console.
I will snap shots of my Civic soon.
Thanks

Oh yeah, pics please!
What is your impression of the fog lights? I was considering adding these but I've read mixed reviews -- some complain that they are very fragile for the cost.

Too early to tell about you the quality aspect of the Fog Lamp. It felt solid when installing it, but as far as durability, that has yet to be determined.
I wanted the ability to have maximum resale value when I sell it in 3 years. Though most dealerships might not know the difference between the eBay brand and Honda's.
I wouldn't worry about the complains. Since it is a Honda branded product you can use all the prewiring Honda run for it already. Some of the off brands might use this prewiring, but could damage your electrical and void your warranty.
If you want tight OEM look, you will definitely like these.
As far as brightness goes, these will add more light to your front perimeter.

I got the door sills off of eBay under seller name: partplaza
I got the back end finish off of eBay under seller name: goody4less
The other parts were from the Honda dealer.

How does the Illumination Kit work? Do the lights come on when the door is open? Or just when the lights (Park, head, hi-beam) are on?
I'm also going to install the Fog lights!

very nice. how does mirror work? it moves by itself?
^illumination has its own switch you turn them on/off but i think it is only active when the park lights are on or something. kinda like the fogs.
