I own a 06 Coupe. I just bought some 18's and was wondering what everyone with 18's is running as far as tire sizes. I was thinking I would like to go with 215/45/18 but 215/40/18, 205/40/18 were my other choices. But I really want to go with a 45 series tire. Does anyone know of any scrubbing issues or rubbing issues with the different size tires. Thanks for all the help.

I have talked to a couple of tire dealers and they have different info, 2 says that a 225/40/18 is the best way to go. And other 2 say that 215/40/18 is the best way. But the 225/40/18 specs are for 7.5 - 9.0 rims. But they say they will still work on my 7 but will bolge out aliitle on the sides. Dont know if that is safe or not. Thanks for all ya'll info.

IMO,If you are not going to drop it, don't even bother with rims. I see so many Civics out there with 17s and 18s with no drop and it looks flat out silly. Wayyyyy too much fender gap.

i went to a tire calculator and put in all the sizes u wanted. the 225/40/18 would be your closests match. its just barely taller than your stock tire. but i dont know how well 225's will fit in there as far as rubbing goes.

Just got back from the Honda dealer, where they had a 07 Civic EX Sedan all deck out with body kit, spoilers, the works.
They had fitted 18 inch wheels with 225/40R18 which thus work fine

You should get the same rolling diameter of wheel or your speedometer and odometer will be off. So the correct tire for you is 215/35/18 which is what I have. It rubbed like **** when I put them on but after an alignment all is well.

Sorry, the 8 generation Civic must have a different wheel size, the EM2 is 195/70/R14. Disregard my earlier comment.

225 remember we drive a Civic not an Accord. Well, unless you have a sedan. Might as well get 19's
well I would say 215
the majority of people with civics go with 205 with 17's
why would you jump from 205 to 225 with 18's. Unless your not planning on lowering it Much

I went with the 225/40/18 tires. They dont stick out past fenders and look good. I put 205 and 215 on at my friends tire shop and just liked the 225 the best. But everyone likes different stuff. Here is the picture.

I have 18" x 8" SSG 3 piece rims and have put 225/40 R18 Nokian Z's on them. Hold the road good. I'm going to lower the front 1.5" and the rear 1.3" using HR lowering springs. I gotta get some pics when this is done.
