Cobalt?
Having own some GM cars back in the 1990's, including, buicks with wheels flying off, and Pontac Gran Prix with motors that blows up...al I can say is "NEVER AGAIN -GENERAL MOTORS"
I have rented the Cobalt as rentals, and they are crude with a souless and hash motor.....and who design that mail-slot for the trunklid?
Yes, the Cobalt SS maybe faster than the Si by a fraction of a second, but there is no pleasure in driving the Colbalt SS, just another piece of GM crap.

Rep Power: 216 Wow, he asked a question about a honda and you flame him for having a domestic.. whatever.
You can get a supercharger for the 07 si. If you hurry you might be able to find a comptech kit before they're all gone - seeing as how comptech is now out of business.
Redshift also has a supercharger kit out for the 06-07 si.. I haven't read much on it yet but it seems to be making some pretty decent numbers. 300+ whp.
If you begin to lean more towards a turbo setup, there are a couple of options. First and foremost - stay the **** away from the greddy kit for the fg2. From what I've read (from several owners of the kit) it is pure garbage.
There is a new company that is laying down some great numbers with their kit... AllJapPerformance.com
They hit 376 whp on 8.5 psi with the basic kit with upgraded turbo, and fuel return system. I would recommend that personally.. probably run about $1k more than the redshift kit but you get quite a bit more power.
If you want to read up on the options for the 06+ si I would suggest going over to 8thcivic.com.. this is more of a 7thgen civic biased site (imagine that).
This site should've stayed 7thgencivic.com... just my .02
