headrest on 07 civic

my wife just bought a 07 civic EX. It seems to be a nice car, and it is our first honda, but one thing I really dont like is the headrest. I thought they were on backwards from how they are tilted forward. And they are very uncomfortable to me. When we bought the car I compared a headrest from an accord which seemed softer and more comfortable.
What do you think of the headrests?

You don't actually rest your head on them while driving. Goole crash test videos and you'll know why they're designed like that.

Re: headrest on 07 civic

I have the same problem with my 2012 Civic. I need to sit with my back STRAIGHT. That blasted rock at the top forces my head forward, creating neck pain, back pain, and even leg pain if I ride very long. I bought the car thinking I could use pillows. I have yet to find a satisfactory arrangement. Maybe those headrests are okay for people who can comfortably slump, but I'm ready to give the car back!

BTW, it's impossible for me to drive without having my head touch the thing, and the vibrations tend to induce drowsiness -- not safe! It's a shame, because otherwise I really like the car.

When you test drove the car before you bought it, were you already asleep to not notice the headrest position relative to how you sit?
