07 Civic EX coupe clutch pedal movement?

I just picked up my 07 Civic EX coupe with MT. I have just over 100 miles on it and I am surprised to findout that the clutch pedal has some play in it when it is compressed. I don't notice it during straight line acceleration, only when shifting while turning.

I did some investigation and it appears that when the clutch pedal is compressed it bottoms out against a purple plastic stop. This stop has some movement and I believe it is what I am feeling. Has anyone else experienced this or know if the stop can be secured somehow? Thanks in advance.

Well at least it is good to know that it is not just my car. I guess when I go in for my first oil change I will ask the dealer to look at it. My guess is though they won't be able to do anything with it. In the mean time, I will work on a solution.

I have had someting similar with my 2006 EX sedan. It doesn't do it all the time, but sometimes when I push the clutch pedal all the way in, I feel a slight shudder in the pedal. Then, when I am about halfway through releasing the clutch, it will make a small squeeking sound. It only does the squeeking sound on the release, not when I'm depressing the clutch. It's really weird. When I brought the car into the dealer for an oil change I asked them to take a look at it. Of course they said they couldn't replicate the problem (which I guess I kind of understand), and that they couldn't find anything wrong with the clutch. The funny thing is, after that appointment, it doesn't seem to do it anymore?? Go figure. It sounds like you might be experiencing the sae thing I did. I wish I had an answer. My only piece of advice is take it in for an oil chahe!
