Rep Power: 0 Display Name on Radio
Anybody know how to set up a display name that can show my name on the little screen on the radio? I think I've seen it on the brochure before but couldn't figure out how to do it to mine. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

1) Make sure the radio is off
2) Push and hold the TUNE ****, then push the power/volume **** on the audio control panel. You will see the first letter blinking.
3)Turn the TUNE **** to change a letter.
4) Push the top of the SEEK button to select the next segment, then turn the TUNE **** to select a letter. Repeat this procedure to set your message
***To change the letter select the previous segment by pushing the bottom of the SEEK button
The system will return to the audio display about 5 seconds after you stop selecting a letter

like 2fast4u said those are the instructions. The display might be a model specific feature. Might depend if you have an MP3 reader in the deck. also the coupe and Si have different systems. i read that the coupe and si have bigger systems with stronger amps than the sedan, might be why u can't get the name on your systems

Rep Power: 0 I tried this on my EX sedan, and nothing happenned. I imagine this only works for the coupe and SI trim levels. Those radios come with a 350-watt sound system rather than the 160-watt system found in the sedan version. They probably added more functionality to it as well. I wish Honda had given all EX civics the same radio. Just because I bought a sedan doesn't mean I don't like a nice sound system. Not quite sure who made this call at Honda, but I don't quite agree with it.

That is so not fair. I don't think it cost Honda any more to give that cool option on all civic models.
And why EX coupe gets 350W stereo and not EX sedan?
Now other then 2 extra doors do we have something that coupe doesn't have? anyone?

Rep Power: 0 I think EX sedan owners kind of got the shaft by Honda here. There's no reason the EX coupe should have a better sound system then the EX sedan. I can understand if they wanted the SI to have a slightly better system. Buyers of that car might be a slightly different demographic. But if I'm shelling out the money for an EX model, whether sedan or coupe, it should have the same radio in my personal opinion.

i have to say I don't always understand Honda's rationale for the model featureset
why don't canadian models have remote trunk release?
why does the passenger seat in the coupe only slides forward in LX and EX?
etc.

damn that sucks for u guys...honda really did cut corners on that. Only explanations i can offer up for their rational thought is that the coupe is the same body as the Si, which it would make sense to have the best stuff in it, and since all the Si is a better engine they would keep cupe models mostly the same....guess u guys just have to wait until the seadan Si comes out if it does
