Rep Power: 0 How long did everyone wait for thier civic?
I live in Houston and I ordered a galaxy gray ex coupe on May 20th. At first the dealer told me delivery would be on June 15. I was dissapointed today when I stopped by the dealer to check on things and they told me possibly August!!! Has anyone else has this experience?

Rep Power: 0 I have heard some stories of 2 or more months for waiting. When I wanted my GG EX Coupe Auto, I must have called 15 dealerships trying to find one. I just happened to luck into the fact they had one on the lot.
BTW, if it starts getting to where it looks like you'll never get your car, I'm selling mine. It sits in the garage because I have a truck that I drive to work. Only 1,000 miles on it. I have family in Houston, it would be a good trip for me.

I was replacing a 1994 Probe GT (which I loved) that had gone under in Katrina. My street got eleven feet of water which stayed around for weeks. I did not take the car when I evacuated.
Months later when we were considering a Civic we found out that a dealership in New Orleans East was actually open. This was one of the most devastated areas of New Orleans. Every house was destroyed and there is still very little life there almost a year later. This dealership had managed to get power and open up. We went on a rainy day and there was absolutely no one there except us. There were three EX coupes on the lot. We chose the silver because it had black interior. There was also a silver Si on the lot which I was sorely tempted to get, but premium gas and eight miles less per gallon made my decision (which I'm still not sure was the right one). We called, went, and bought the same day. I'm convinced no one even thought to go to this part of town. They even knocked three hundred off the sticker.

Rep Power: 0 Same here. Got mine for about 1000 below sticker same day I came in. Some of the employees there weren't really friendly. Really poor customer service.
But anywho good luck on getting the civic!

I live in Silicon Valley and did all my research on the Web (KBB, Edmund, etc)
and also using the Web for dealer selection/pricing (Time and Gas are too
expensive to visit any local dealers for Civic hunting!).
My dealer selection criteria:
The first internet dealer that E-Mail me and willing to sell the car at dealer
invoice price will get my business, waiting time for ordering my exact Civic
is not an issue for me since I do not need the car right away.
The dealer that I selected does not has the silver Civic LX sedan on his
lot but stated that he had one on ordered and it will be there in 2 weeks.
I gave him my creditcard number for deposit and put the ordered car in
my name. Luckily my Civic arrived one week early.
My Dealer is great in customer service and very hornest in dealing with me
so if anyone live in the bay area and need a great dealer, please let me know.
I will be glad to help.
Have fun in Civic hunting!
But don't drive ... use the Web!

I'm picking mine up today at 3PM. I ordered it on April 11. At least in this part of the country dealers order sedans over coupes and automatics over manuals. I also wanted a Navigation unit which I understand makes it all the rarer.

I wanted an atomic blue EX with Navi and some options. Dealer had one in black but I refuse to do beige interior in a daily driver. They found a dealer 20 miles away with one in silver to trade with and I took it. Took me a week to pick it up because of work schedule.

Rep Power: 0 I live in souther Maine, and I had similar problems. I called just about every dealer in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachussetts, looking for a 2006 EX Manual Sedan in Galaxy Gray. Only only dealer in Boston had the car on their lot. I had put a $100 deposit down on a silver EX Sedan which I was told would arrive in early June (I put the deposit down in early May) at another dealership. The Boston dealership gave me their car cor $100 over invoice, so I decided to go with them. Come to find out later, the silver one I had the deposit down on wasn't really going to be here until the end of August at the earliest! They were lying to me the whole time. You have to be careful with these cars. Dealers know they can get top dollar for them, so they'll try to screw you any way they can.

I ordered my Atomic Blue LX Coupe 5 speed on February 18 and got it on April 17. Two months. There were absolutely no manual transmission coupes available anywhere in the midwest in Blue - so it had to be ordered from the factory.
I got it about $1000 off sticker (before the price increase). When I picked it up, the salesman told me they had only been able to get two more manuals since then and both sold before arrival for full sticker price. I guess I got lucky early.

Wow, reading all your posts, I thought I had a long wait (3 weeks). Sometimes I wonder, is business that good? It took me a while to get a hold of one, and I almost got suckered into settling for a Scion TC. After driving the Civic, the TC had no chance... especially with their V6 thirst.

I had to call 7 or 8 dealers in Eastern PA/Western NJ until I found one with an EX Coupe AT on thier lot to test drive. It was galaxy grey but I wanted either white or black. Dealer was able to find a black one being delivered to another dealership and traded for me.
