Who cares what they are going for. Go to costco (www.costco.com) and get a membership. Use the auto buying program and only pay $400 over invoice.

Better yet dont buy new and wait a bit and buy used, its your best bet in the long run. The minute you drive that car off the lot new your value in resale deminishes alot

in most cases if you do your research you wont and plus there are those people who buy it and after 5k or so sell it becaue they want something else or something better.

i don't know, with honda resale values as high as they are I prefer the peace of mind $2-3k extra brings for a new car.

Yes but you still lose out big time.
Not that you dont lose out big time buying a used car either. Once you fix the probs you end up spending just as much.

Cant you just lease instead. Save you from resale value and u get a new car every 3 or 4 years.

leasing isn't good. I'd hate to lease
you wouldnt be able to mod the car or do anything you want to it.
Its someone else's car, not yours.

yes Im also not keen on leasing. Does anyone here lease?
I thought only companies etc leased cars, not enthusiasts.

I don't least for one main reason. Forget payments and saving money. You can't get out of the car mid lease. Yes, maybe towards the end but:

Let's say you have a bad accident like I did (my 05 subaru impreza) and after it's fixed the car just sux *****, you won't be able to trade and will be stuck finishing off the lease.

Since I always finance my cars, I was able to get out of my car with only 4000 miles, YES, I was upsidedown on the loan (negative equity) but I will still able to get into my new civic.

If I had leased, this would never have happened and I would have been stuck in a car that was just no good anymore.

Really? I thought they would let you trade it in if you smashed it! And you pay the excess insurance of course.

I agree with kero though.. leasing is not a great idea.
