So does anyone here have a 2006 Civic yet?
I know they are just brand new and not many people rush out to put off the showroom floor.
But if you have one, how does it compare to older Civic's?

No im not lucky enough to own one of these fantastic models but id have one straight away if i had the cash.
This car has won Car of the Year from Motor Trend© and some of the reviews there really speak highly of the comfort and classiness of this car.
This is truely the best in my opinion. I do like the older models but this one really makes me smile

They tend to bring those out at this time of the year. It is a pretty nice car.

The car is out but they usually wouldnt judge an 06 car as car of the year until the end of 06 as there will be alot more cars coming out this year that should be in the running.
That said, I still havent seen that poll so I cant really say for sure if its true or not.

Tomorrow(friday) will be two weeks I have had mine right now it has 1030 miles. First tank wife filled it up and got 38 or 39 mpg she said doubt if the dealer filled it up like I do them. Second tank got 41.6 on it. Not bad. I bought this one as a commuter car 144 miles round trip to work. No problems yet rides great. This replaced a 01 NB TDI I had while the Civic want get the mpg the VW got I am happy. This one has the AT the VW was a 5spd.

Yes Sam I saw it win Car of the Year. The magazines like to get that released as the season ends and all the new cars are released.
Remeber the previous models usually start coming out many months before the previous year. So the 2006s were out in late 2005.

I have ordered an Atomic Blue Civic LX Coupe - I expect it to arrive at the end of March or early April. The 2006 manual transmission models are really hard to find in anything but white or silver in Omaha, Nebraska. Test driving an automatic, I was a bit depressed by the lack of torque (a stick will handle that issue better). I also found it a bit difficult to climb into the cabin, but once in it feels really great. The suspension on the Coupe is terrific, the Sedan a bit softer and the Si is even better according to reports I've read.
I am trying to get some things ready for its arrival, but that has raised more questions than answers, unfortunately. For example, see my question on the Accessories thread regarding lighting option combinations.
FWIW, I paid 15,900 for the stock Civic Coupe LX Manual, but had to order it with 6-8 week lead time.

Yes, I would not buy an auto either.
I'd rather wait for the manual version, it is worth the wait.
Auto's are always sluggish, no matter what car you are driving.
You made the right choice

Here ya go!
Enjoy...
This is after a simple Klasse All In One polish application and Klasse Sealant Glaze. Just wanted to put on a little bit of protection until I can spend more time on a full detail.
I got a chance to drive it to pick up my boys from school and I have to tell you, I'm very impressed with the vehicle (expressway 45MPH driving, city driving). The get up and go is not at all too bad for a 140 hp engine. It felt nimble, though I wish the suspension was a little tighter. There was a little too much body roll for my taste, but then again, I'm not the primary driver of this vehicle. The shifting is smooth, precise and the cabin noise is surprisingly minimal.
Just a little bit of my background so that you guys can make of it on your own about what I said/say about the driving characteristics I experienced. I'm here to provide my input.
I had a 1990 Acura Integra, 5 spd manual (just recently sold it, I was the first owner, 200k miles). I have driven extensively the following vehicles, 1996 Acura Integra GS-R, 2004 Acura TSX & 2005 Lexus IS300. I own a 2003 Honda Pilot.
Overall, I really like this Civic. The styling, interior roominess and overall gadget functionality is just plain, well, for lack of a better word, cool.
I hope my quick summary of vehicle experiene can help a few prospective buyers!

Wadely:
My son-in-law, who now lives in Columbus, Ohio, used to work at a Honda dealer here in Omaha, Nebraska. He's the one who strongly encouraged me to consider the Honda automobiles. He took my advice on a wife, so I thought I'd take his on a car. Now, if only this Civic lasts as long as my marriage (33 years & going strong!)

has anyone seen the atomic blue civic?
i am new at this civic forum stuff so take it easy on me, k? i just sold my '01 pathfinder and am seriously considering purchasing an '06 civic (preferably atomic blue but i have yet to see one on the mean streets of tucson, az. the brochure doesn't do the color any justice and the dealership doesn't have any AB civics on their lot. i love the shape of the civic. my other dilema is a toss up between the LX and the EX. i can't stand wheel covers but i want to keep my initial costs down. i wonder if it's worth it upgrading to the EX just to get the alloys. i don't download much music so the mp3 player and/or the 6-cd changer is a not a big selling point with me. this could be my first ever honda product.

Rep Power: 0 I have an 06 civic ex coupe in galaxy grey metallic.... here are a few pics.
Overall, the car is amazing. VTEC works great, the shifting is remarkable. The clutch is nice an easy and shifting gears is fast and easy. I've driven a variety of 5 spd (1993 Infiniti G20, 2003 Nissan Xterra) and 6 speeds (Mini Cooper S) and out of all of them this clutch was the easiest and best to use. I suggest that anyone out there looking for a civic to get the EX or Si coupe. The sound system is amazing (350 watt w/ sub) and it has a really nice sporty look and is very comfortable. It's also fairly comfortable for the backseat occupants (even though it's a coupe) and it provides headrests and armrests (w/ cupholder) for each passenger on the sides. The two tier instrument panel, contrary to what people say, DOESNT take a long time to get used to. It's very practical and you can adjust the steering wheel and brightness of the gauge cluster to suit your needs. The speedometer, digital and located close to the steeply raked windshield provides a good view of the road while being able to see how fast you are going, which really helps out, especially if you have to see when to shift (even though some people do it by tachometer or by feel). The cupholders have things on the inside to prevent the cup from spilling and to provide a supportive yet flexible space for the drink. One of my favorite things about this car is that it appears small on the outside (and makes you think it's small being a coupe), but on the inside it's very roomy, and the adjustablity of the seats is pretty good. This is an amazing car, be jealous guys
