Honda SI Veloz

A friend of mine trashed his rear bumper and needs to get it replaced. We
can get a bumper from a 2002 civic DX to replace it. The question is how
easy is it to get the factory body kit off the original bumper? Is it on
with just clips? Can it be added to the DX bumper?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.....need the info by Wednesday if
anybody can help
Email me if you can stevecroke@thezone.net
TIA

Steve

I don't know how to replace a bumper but I will throw in my 2¢ here. I would suggest in buying a Service Manual from www.helminc.com they will set you back between $40 to $90 but well worth it. I'm pretty sure that the $85 Civic service manual covers R&R (remove and replace) of all body panels. It will show you in steps on how to do it plus any clips or other parts you might need. Then you'll also have a great Manual for future repairs or mods.

I believe there are also some adhesives. Not too hard to get off but I'm not sure how steady the back part of the bumper would be. Might start rubbing paint. But you can get 2 sided adhesives anywhere.
Installation instructions WERE here (http://www.handaaccessories.com/civic/02civrus.pdf) but last I tried there was a file error.

on my oem kit there are no adhesives, just a couple screws and clips, i dont know if its like that on all of them i would believe so, any way there are screws on the inside of the fender and clips along the part of the bumper, that way you can remove the kit with out damaging the bumper and you would never know it was there..........

hope this helps

the back of the oem kit has some really strong tape, i believe 2 screws at each end and 6 clips along the bottom.
