auto tranny light, and the plate!

i took my auto apart to replace the bulbs (actually, my car is barely drivable at the moment)

first, anyone know what kind of bulb it is? on the bulb it self, it saids 514 or s14 i tried 74, it was too big

second, when i took it apart, not to my suprise, i found this

but when i try to shift to 1st, it wouldn't let me.. maybe the linkage is too short...

so, anyone know what kind of bulb it is?

Just a guess here, I drive 5 spd. Did u remove the center consol to check if there is a "stop" that the shifter pushes up against, thus stopping you from being able to shift back that far?

i looks, but there was no stops at the "shift tracks" everytime you shift, the thing stays there by a groove, i think that's where the shifting resistance comes from, the auto actually has that groove, but it would not let me shift into it

Can we say JDM shifter assembly swap? Its gonna be pricey but if it works you can be the proud owner of the first USDM civic auto to be able to shift into 1st at a stop....

edit: oh yea nice poster on the wall btw......
