side impact molding on sedan

I am wondering if anyone has ever found out if you can take off the side molding of a 02 sedan, without having to fill holes. I saw the other topic on this, but no real answer. thanks

it is clipped on. you will have to fill the holes in where the clips are.

nope, sedans have clips that hold the molding.you cant take it off without filling in the holes.only coupes dont have holes in their doors because they are optional to put on.

I recall seeing some of the door mouldings removed from previous generation Civics (coupes, sedans and hatchbacks) and the 3rd Gen Integra. It leaves a wedge in the doors with holes. For instance on an 3rd gen Integra GS-R or base model you get the mouldings. But on a Type R, you get a clean door that looks similar to our coupes. I dunno how it is on our 7th Gen sedans but for those cars you have to take it to a body shop and "shave" the mouldings to have a smooth looking door. I never seemed to favor the mouldings. The 6th gen coupe shouldn't have had them but oh well. That car still looks good.
