I'm having a 50 shot kit installed (dry system), I think the brand is NEX (or Zex>??) ,I have a aem adj. cam, should I retard a few degrees or advance a few degrees witha nitrous kit??[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]

Its Zex, and I do believe a dry shot wont work in our cars. If I were you I would find out some info before you f**k somthing up.

ZEX does not work with our cars, which you will probably find out when the shop calls you up. We don't have a fuel return line, something that the zex kit (and just about any other dry system other than venom) requires. And you retard maybe 2 degrees if you are going to run a 50 shot, but it isn't necessary.

The Zex kit will not work with the 7thGens. You need to purchase a Wet kit. Zex is coming out with a wet kit soon. I don't know the exact date, but at NOPI Nationals they told me they would be releasing it.

ZEX and VENOM do not work.

You must get a "wet kit" NX Express makes one or good old NOS makes one.
Yes there are others, but these are the most common. I'd go with the NX express

For a 50 hp shot, use 92 octane and don't worry about the retard. Most manufacturers like 2 degrees retard per 50 hp shot, but the first 50 can be without any retard in most cases. You want the retard only when you're squeezing. I know how to set it all up for vintge iron using MSD, but don't know how to program it for our 7th gens. One of these guru's should be able to help if you need it. But heck with only 50 hp, I wouldn't worry about it.

Venom does have a nitrous kit for our cars. Moocow had one before the turbo.

sorry about the confusion on the brand, I went with a nitrous express stage 1 kit, (50 shot nozzles), remote bottle opener and bottle warmer, is anything else needed that the kit does not come with or the other items i mentioned???

Venom does have a kit for our cars...the VC-1000 works well...in fact I installed it yesterday...50 shot...I post apicture before it was installed....IT IS SO MUCH FUN!!

ignition timing and cam timing are too totally different things. you cant adjust your cam gear to retard IGNITION timing

You are gonna enjoy it, too bad the bottle runs out so quickly. My engine sounds nuts when I spray in 2nd, and the car pulls pretty hard. 3rd and 4th still pull harder but nothing like 2nd, anyone else feel the same? Maybe I should change spark plugs or retard the timing or maybe its just bad gearing.
