Got some problems...need advice

Im having some odd engine problems that I cant explain. For no apperent reason my car has gotten over a second slower in the 1/4 mile. I used to be able to run a 16.1 all day long. Last week on the super street tour I was only able to run 17.2's all day long at virginia motor speedway. I thought maybe it was the track conditions or bad fuel so I ran at my home track on saturday and ran the same thing the whole day, also my car seems quiter on the intake side. My intake and filter seem fine and my throtle cable is nice and tite so I know that the TB is opening all the way. If anyone has some insight into my situation advice would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's the clutch. It might be slipping instead of gripping.
It might be the synchro's. They might be slipping instead of gripping.

I would be worried about the transmition before the engine.
Especially if there isn't something evidently wrong with the engine.

try cleaning the intake filter and removing your system. that always helps 1/4 mile a little

to answer your question 50,000 miles +or- 100, my tranny is 2 months old however i know my clutch is toasted but not that badly,. and my system was stolen. I know that the clutch is hurting me a little bit but that still doesnt explain why the engines gotten quiet.

Are you positive that it's gotten quieter? If so, then is your check engine light on? Your car might be in limp mode.
Let's see... Gotten quieter? Usually an engine gets louder when there's something wrong with it.

sometimes a dirty engine can hurt a cars performance. and you did keep up with your oil changes every 3,000 or so miles. and i've had my car for about 3 months and i have 6631 miles on it.

well, if you subtract the 3 months the car was down in the shop... 10 months here, 16,572 miles on the odometer right now...

Anyways, go for a full tune-up, plugs, oil, fluids, maybe an upgraded clutch?

I change the oil myself every 3000 mile w/ mobile one full synthetic and I use a fram double guard oil filter that comes pre-treated w/ a really good oil additive.
Im going to get a tune up on friday and I ordered a phantom grip L.S.D. and a ACT stage 3 clutch. Hopefully this will solve my problems, though im affraid that somethings up w/ my VTEC and thats why it seems quiet.
