Help w/ DC Sports SS adapter..

I bought one off a member of this site, went to put it on, and it didn't seem to
fit. The hole in the adapter fits on the hole vacated by the shift linkage, but when
I go to fit the part of the adapter where the screw for the allen key is, it's hitting
up against the curved section of the shift lever. What do I do??

The channel on the DC isn't big enough to fit over the shift lever, since
it's hitting right where the lever curves

I paid $35 for it. I realize how easy it is to put on, it just doesn't
wanna fit. I'll take a pic of my problem, to explain it better

IDQcivic should not be trusted
I've got the DC short shift adapter, it was easy to install and I had no problems, make sure you have it all lined up correctly. If i remember the curved part fits on the the shaft of the shifter.
