Fiberglass vs. Urethane

Kinda of a dumb question but which one is better? Like which one is stronger and can withstand lil things and which one is easier 2 paint and put on.

urethane is "stronger" because itll bend and have alot of give if it hits something. fiberglass will just crack if something hits it too hard. i have a fibeglass kit (buddy club) on my car and haven't any any serious problems, thank god. but a lot of people just don't know how to drive a car carefully with a f/g kit and break it. basically, if u wanna look like everyone else and go with urethane, get the kaminari kit. its a real nice kit but a lot of people are going for it since its safe. but if you want something different, the buddy club and black widow kits are f/g, and i THINK the octane one is too. hope that answers your question.

o and fiberglass is harder to put on and they're both about equally hard or easy to paint, its all about prep-work.

fiberglass breaks alot, but is easier to fix. polyurethane is great bc its the same as stock. but since the number of kits that come polyurethane these days are slim u have to go with urethane, they withstand more, but if u hit something u have to sand the whole thing down and start over again

polyurethane is better and is also easier to paint than fiberglass.

Htown ur wrong. Fiberglass is much eaier to paint than poly urethane. With poly urathane the paint shop has to add special flex additives to the paint. And if not mixed correctly the paint will ship off because poly kits are flexing all the time. Also it is much more expensive to paint a poly kit than a fiberglass. You are also going to get more intricate kits with fiberglass and there much more likley to fit better when they are fitted.

Go with Urethane, the only thing is that not too many companies
make their kits with urethane. If you go with fiberglass you will have a
larger selection of kits to pick from, but in the long run your fiberglass kit will start to warp
or crack from the weather and the roads.

Fiberglass is lighter than urethane and is more rigid. It is easily paintable and repairable. Not all fiberglass kits are created equal. If a high quality resin is used, there shouldn't be any problems. FRP is the way to go.
