ATTN: Those of you with aftermarket Tach!!
I just picked up an Autometer Pro Comp Silver 5" Tach. I know how I am going to hook up the main wires thatks to the wonderful DIY in this site. But my question is, how dod you guys go about mounting the Tach to the A pillar or dashboard. Did you youse the sheet metal screws that came with it, or did you use somthing else? Also, if you mounted it to the Apillar, is it sturdy or douse that trim piece fall off? I'm still debating on which side I am going to mount it on. One last thing, which wire do we have to cut in order to have it work with our Disributor less ignition? Thanks for your help.

I had them mount it on my a Piller and it looks good. Never moves or anything i think i have a pic. As far as how i mounted it i used the screwsi it came with and mounted it that way i used the base it came with too
i used everything supplied with the tach and mounted it right to the A pillar. i was gonna do a dash mount with it at first, but after visiting the site www.overboost.com they said the dashboard material wouldnt made for a sturdy enough mounting location. when you take off the A pillar, the inside has some plasting "frame work" in the way. i just took an xacto knife and cut it out. i guess it depends on the exact location you are mounting it on the A pillar. i put mine as far down as possible so the bottom of the tach was resting on the dashboard.
