Help on installing autometer tach
Help on installing autometer tach
When hooking up the green one to the blue wire next to the battery; do you have to splice the wire and connect them together? Or is there a way to take off the black thing and plug both wires in? Thanx
what i did is i went to the parts store and got in line wire crimp connector. you squeeze the connector anywhere on the blue wire and then you can connected it with the another connecter in the kit.

you do not wanan t-tap things into cars,,, t-taps break the wire and then you can issues later with corrsion, improper connection , what you should do espically with the tach wire is strip the wire back , tape it , and solder, and heat shrink it ... max protection, solder will protect againinst corrosion, and tape and heat shirnk will protect the wire from grounding out ... but you just need to pardon the espression tap into the wire ..
That blue wire that is by the battery, runs to the gauges. So what i did was just take out the gauges and found the blue wire connected to the gauges. I just spliced it and used a butt connector and it worked like gravy baby. Hasne fvcked up on me yet
there is about 15 blue wires, and u have to choose one and if it don't work then put a piece of tape around the wire that did not work and then try another. i did mine with a friend it works better. one of u clamps the wire on, then start ur car and rev it up and see if it works and if it don't then try another one.
