Can I swap this???

I have an lx AT and well bottom line here I planed on swapping the motor but i don't have the money for the k20. My question though...i found a 91 crx si 5 speed for a great price.....does it come stock with a b16a1? And has anyone swapped this motor out with the 2k1?, well more than the motor needs swapped obviously but you get my point....

first, the B engines likely won't fit in the 7th gen because of the size of the new engine bay, but no one that we know of has tried it because it's illegal to have an engine in your car that is older than the chassis. i don't know if that is a federal law or on a state level, but for those two reasons no one has tried and most likely won't. you'd be better off with the k20 swap.

isn't the problem with that, that the motor rotates the wrong way? that's what I think I heard once, but I don't know.

well yes i would be better off as far as horse power but....i would also switch chasis and transmission a very hefty job second there are more things availuable for this b16 motor. The major problem i see is where the steering arms are located.

crx si motor is d16a6, not b series.....and it doesnt matter if it rotates the opposite way as long as you have the tranny that goes with that motor

that's what I thought when I heard it but I'm extremely new to most of this. I'm used to mustangs but I've converted from the dark side. I was tired of spending half my week repairing my ride.

you would have to get new motor mounts and tranny for the new motor anyway, whether it's a B or a K, cause the B is not a bolt in for our cars, and you can't bolt the D tranny onto a B motor, as far as i know. i may be wrong on the tranny, but i know you'll still need to change the chassis for the actual mounting cause of the size of our engine bay. yes the K turns the other way, but since you're having to swap the tranny and everything anyway, including driveshaft, then it doesn't matter.

"more than you can afford pal" technically i imagine anything that can fit under the hood is interchangeable with its own chasis, tranny, and ecu. Thats the main reason y i wanna buy that crx....it has everything already there, but i think i might go with blueice2001 there. Have two project cars....thats just so much time and money....its all fun though....

that's cool - my goal is to get this car paid off, graduate, get my full time job, then turn this into a project car and get another daily driver
