ya i know the rear shocks/springs are stiffer, cause with the 01 it was bouncy, 02 was fine. i think they also added a sway bar or tie bar on the LX, not too sure tho

Plus the Rack-n-Pinion steering system was beefed up. I know for sure it was on the EX but not sure on the other models.

The rear suspension IS stiffer on the '02 model but the rear is still bouncy! I have an '02 and i have driven a few '01's and there is definitely a huge difference but the problem is not 100% fixed!

damn...why can't honda make the suspension right the first time when they released the 01 model...at least do a recall to change the shocks on the 01 model

i'm not exactly sure what they changed, the shock or the spring. who knows maybe even both. kinda leaning towards the shock since it was modified in some way since groundcontrols for the 01 doesn't fit the 02. you could try getting someone to swap out their 02 with your 01s. maybe with someone who got full coilovers. konis probably would help too since they're adjustable. but ya if i ever find out what they changed exactly i'll let ya'll know so thats its easier to fix the 'problem'

funny thing is give it time. i've had my 01 civic for 10 months and the bounciness is gone now. explain that!
i weigh just over 150Ibs and usually ride by myself. i have a 12" sub box and 1 amp in the trunk.
it may be related to the wieght of the stereo equipment.

they also beefed up the rear sway to 13 mm from 12 mm...

and they also threw that on the LX too...

if I remember, they just dialed down the springs... could be the shocks too though. who knows.

all I know is, when my shock blows, I'm getting something ELSE
