civic won't start when driven in hot weather

I have a 93 civic LX 1.5 that when the weather is hot won't start after it has been driven and shut off for 10 or 15 minites.
I have to raise my hood for 5 to 10 minutes for it to cool before it will start.
The engine isn't overheating, the gauge say's it's fine. I act's like vapor lock.
I've changed the fuel filter, coil, igniter, cap and relay.
Any Ideas???

^^ doubt it. i mean they are right next to the engine while its running and its even hotter then. fuel pressure could be feasible.

err... i said it could be overheating cuz he said it happens after he turns off his car (after driving... unless he's magical and his car stays on all day) and wont start again until it get COOLER...

so... what makes you think the starter couldnt NOT start up after its hot? i am pretty sure ur starter isnt working as you drive... only when u.. well... u know... START! lol

starter overheats, wont start up... cools down a bit, starts up.

sounds like it could be it to me...

Re: civic won't start when driven in hot weather

Engine hard to start when hot.

1. Air filter glogged.
2. Fuel not reaching the fuel injector system.
3. Corroded battery connections, especially ground.

I think I had the same issue as you and it was my positive battery cable. Yeah, I recall I had to let my car sit before I could get it to start again. When I bought the car there was a huge chunk of it missing due to corrosion. I had to pop the clutch to get it to start sometimes.
