Electrical Troubles?
In my 2002 Honda Civic 2Dr EX Coupe the battery light is on on the dash. My brother in law is a mechanic and he I spent all day trying to diagnose the issue. I have within the past month replaced the battery and today we replaced the alternator hoping that would clear up the light. Unfortunately that was not the case. We checked all the obvious things like fuses and ground wires and connections. We did not have access to a code reader today but should have one within the next couple of days but in the meantime does anyone have any ideas as to where else or what else we can look for.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the alternator went bad it will kill even a new battery. So unfortunately you may have to buy a new battery to go with that new alternator. I depends on how much you have driven on the new battery with the bad alternator or it could be another bad alternator. I once was working on a 95 escort and ended up returning 2 new alternators before they finally gave me a good one, they even replaced my battery for free.
The battery seems to be ok. It holds 12.5V when the engine is off and then when the engine is running it is at about 14.5-14.8 volts. All signs say that everything is working correctly except for the battery light on the dash. Any more suggestions?
