Autometer C2 Oil Pressure guage install question

Ok, i've read the diy, and have a question concering the install of an autometer oil pressure guage. It looks like the reason you have to use all those fittings to make it work is because the sending unit is too big. Well, the one that comes with the C2 series is way smaller. Here are some pics of it next to a dixie cup:

So can i just screw that into the hole above the oil filter, or am i still gonna have clearance issues? It would just be nice to know before i get everything tore apart and find out that it won't work, and that i'm gonna have to do all that other work. Thanks

you need the stock switch in there as well to keep the light off. So once you put a fitting and a T, you hit the IM.

Ok, now i'm really confused??

Went out and bought all the parts from the diy oil pressure guage thread, and tried to test fit everything together, and the freakin sending unit is too big to thread into the side of the t fitting. Also, where is the other side of the braided hose go? Here are the pics:

Why do i suck at the honda's?

Also, what is the 45 for? I'm guessing its for the other end of the braided hose by i still don't know where that goes to?

Well i'm thinkin that i could just buy a fitting from the sending unit to the T from the same place i bought the other stuff. But i'm still confused on where the other end of the braided hose goes. I'm starting to wonder if the diy on here is for a mechanical guage and the other end of the hose is goin to the back of the guage maybe?
