if you have an h4 kit, i think both comes on, cause you have a little halogen bulb for high beams which makes the light brighter. from my understanding...
low beam = only hid
high beam = hid + halogen bulb
i might be wrong.

you dont ever want to turn off any HID bulbs and turn them right back on. This is even true with halogens; actually more so. let any bright bulb (not turn signal or parking lights, they are designed differently) cool for 30 seconds after turning it off before turning it back on. This will make them last almost the life of the car.

yea i know that, thats why i was wondering if theres a way to change it.
i have an 05 civic (low and high beams are seperate bulbs in seperate pods), the lowbeams (HIDs) are 9006 i believe, and i have no idea what the hibeams are.

well if you have your lo beams on and you pull back on the light switch to "flash" the highs the lows stay on. if you CLICK on the highs the lows go off. at least thats how the 01s are wired

mine is like this:
when you pull back on it:
the hibeams AND lobeams (hid's) turn on.
if the headlights are already on, then only hibeams come on
if its pulled back you have to hold it back or else it will spring back to normal.
to keep the hibeams on you have to push back on it.
any ideas?
