Have you Advanced the Timing?
I was reading some interesting info from http://www.jdmfan.com/technical/perf...dvancedtiming/. Of course, you have to realize this is on the 2000 Si, not ours. Would anybody be willing to give it a try? So does it really give a slight increase in performance and better gas mileage like it saids?
yeah, our cars use direct electronic ignition...there is a coil mounted directly on the top of each plug.
The only thing I've seen so far to help w/ ignition is a product called Plasma Booster, which is a replacement coil for each plug. Supposed to offer improved throttle response, etc. by providing better spark and secondary current.
So, long story short, we can't just loosen and rotate a distributor like the 99 Si's could...

I looked all over for a distributor, but I couldn't really see much underneath the mouse wheel, and every time I lean in to look under it, the mouse would bite me. I think I have to remove the battery cable first next time to avoid being bit.
Or try this. Run 93 octane gas for a tankful or two. The octane will fool the computer so it doesn't retard the timing to prevent knocking. It's possible on some cars to get more spark advance by doing this.
